Mustard Seed Report: Lucy P.
It was so hard to just pick one moment from the trip because it was all so powerful. But one powerful moment that happened for me was when we went to Mustard Seed. Mustard Seed is a clothing and furniture thrift store, where they sell stuff to families who may have lost everything due to a fire or a flood. When we went to Mustard Seed it was Wednesday, so it was our last work day. We were all tired and ready to go to bed, and on top of that, we realized that we had left the forms at the dorms. And they would not let us resign the forms without an actual parent's signature. Luckily, the dorm was only 15 minutes away, so Ella, the intern with Serve Orlando, was so sweet and went and got the forms for us. Half of our group was at Give the Kids the World because people had accidentally left stuff there. So the people at Mustard Seed who had parents or were 18 signed the forms and went and got started. And those of us who couldn't waited for like an hour. I thought it was powerful because the group that started working went in and worked with all they got as if nothing was wrong. And those of us who waited did not complain, and I saw Jesus because we worked with what we had and still showed others the love of Jesus. And then once the group at Give Kids the World got there and Ella with the forms we all got to work. Which was also powerful because even though the circumstances weren't what we thought it would be, everyone still had fun and gave it there all. So I really saw Jesus through the whole trip, but that was just one of the many moments.
